Aluminum Extrusion Dies and Tooling

Dies can be made to form a virtually limitless array of shapes and sizes. The extrusion die is a steel disk (normally H13) with an opening the size and shape of the intended cross-section of the final extruded product cut through it.

At ETSG we design and manufacture a wide variety of die sizes and die designs. From 3-1/2" (9 cm) diameter to 36" (90 cm) diameter. ETSG stocks H-13 material for dies and 2714 material for support tooling. Among the die designs produced at ETSG are solid dies with feeder plates, recessed pockets and zero bearings.

ETSG is well known for the excellence of its hollow dies throughout the extrusion industry.

Among these are bridged feeders, one piece porthole and shutoff portholes for semi-hollow shapes and our patented “extended mandrel design” which helps to produce closer tolerance hollow extrusions. ETSG also manufactures backers and bolsters with nitrogen grooving and also die rings. Our in house heat treating and nitriding makes ETSG a complete and comprehensive die plant.
